After filling in this worksheet, Susan’s goal is now clearer. She can now summarise what she intends to do as follows:“I, Susan, will lose 5 kilos in the next two months and attain my ideal weight by exercising three times a week for an hour, twice at the gym and once at home, as well as by eating three balanced meals a day.” This is not the only way that her goal can be written, there are many other ways that it can be put. The important thing is that she phrases the goal in a way that makes sense to her and that she feels most comfortable with. After all – the goal is meant to help her achieve something and as long as it’s clear enough for her that is fine. The two aspects of exercising and eating well could also have been split into two separate goals follows: “I, Susan, will lose 5 kilos in the next two months and attain my ideal weight by exercising three times a week for an hour, twice at the gym and once at home.” “I, Susan, will lose 5 kilos in the next two months and attain my ideal weight by eating a healthy diet of three balanced meals a day.” Splitting the two may help to make the goals clearer.
